About Us

We here at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church gathered for the first time on the 4th of July weekend in 2005 for Mass at Gretchen Reeder Elementary School. This first gathering consisted of approximately 75 families. Since then we have gradually grown to approximately 350 families and are beginning to recognize a bit of congestion on Sundays in the Gretchen Reeder gymnasium.

One visible accomplishment in these last three years has been the building of a rectory which not only provides housing for the pastor but also contains our parish offices on the lower level and a chapel in the second garage. Our property consists of 20 acres of land on the corner of 192nd & Chandler Street.

Perhaps our greatest accomplishment is the development of a great spirit of Christian community among our members. We strive to live our mission statement. To be Christ for one another living the command of Jesus: “As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how we all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:34b, 35 (New American Bible)

The great excitement at this time is the target date of October 4, 2008 as the day when we hope to put shovel to earth in a groundbreaking ceremony for our new parish center. This of course will be the first of many building projects but we as a community very much feel the need to have our own space for prayer, meetings and educational and social activities.

We are a very young parish with many young parents and very young children but we also have a solid base of more senior couples who help to give our community a foundation of strength and maturity. If you are interested in becoming a member we would love to have you become a part of this dynamic community and would ask that you call the rectory at 916-9730 for further information.
