Apostolates and Ministries
At St. Charles Borromeo, the various types of service we offer, as well as the ones we will continue to develop, afford you an opportunity to get involved in the parish and use your talents in praise and thanksgiving to God. Prayer and Service
Adult Formation Catechists:
Individuals/couples serve as catechists or mentors for those preparing for Marriage, Infant Baptism, and the Sacraments of Initiation (RCIA).
Assists with Funeral Luncheons, Receptions, Welcome Events, and Donut Sundays by providing food, service, set-up and clean-up.
Used plastic shopping bags are woven together to make waterproof sleeping mats for those who are homeless. Meets 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 12:30 - 2:00pm.
Open Door Mission:
Provides an opportunity for parish members to serve lunch on the third Saturday of each month from 11:30am-1:30pm. During the holidays we deliver dinners to needy families. Support donations of cash, food, and clothing.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul:
St. Vincent de Paul Conference and Pantry helps people in need by providing resources such as food, clothing, and shelter.
Provides your family an opportunity to take home this special crucifix and offer prayers throughout the week for an increase in Holy Vocations. Click here to learn more.
Women of the Cloth Quilters Ministry:
This group meets the first Thursday of every month to make quilts together. Finished quilts are given to members of the parish facing serious illness.
Youth Formation Catechists:
Individuals/couples serve as catechists or mentors for Family Faith Formation, Youth Group, VBS, and Sacramental Preparation.
Boys and girls, grades 5 and up, are trained to assist the Priest at Mass.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC):
Adults (Juniors in high school and up) assist in distributing Holy Communion at Mass and taking Communion to the sick and home-bound. Participation in this ministry requires mandation from the Archbishop after being trained by the Archdiocese.
Greeters are the first representatives of our parish when people enter the church. To participate you should be able to provide a warm, friendly welcome, and hand out bulletins.
Adults (Juniors in high school and up) assist in proclaiming the Scriptures at Mass. Participation in this ministry requires mandation from the Archbishop after being trained by the Archdiocese.
Instrumentalists and vocalists assist in providing sacred music for the liturgy.
Assists in the set-up and clean-up for Sunday and Holy Day Masses. Altar linens are laundered and ironed each week.
Ushers are responsible for seating parishioners and facilitating the Offertory at Mass.
(Nominations for membership happen annually)
Advises the pastor in the administration of the temporal goods of the parish.
Parish Pastoral Council:
Assists the pastor in developing the strategic and pastoral planning for the parish.
Our regular adult Bible Study group meets Tuesdays from 10:15-11:45am throughout the year. Occasionally, we offer bible studies on various topics or themes throughout the year. Click here for current offerings.
Knights of Columbus:
Provides men in the parish an opportunity to participate in various activities and projects sponsored by the Knights. This historic fraternity promotes charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
Life After Fifty(LAF):
A fun and active group for those 50 and older. LAF has regular social events as well as getting together for special projects.
St. Charlie’s Angels(Women’s Group):
Provides women in the parish an opportunity to participate in various activities and projects with a focus on service, spirituality, and social events. A great way to get to know other women while having fun and building community around our faith.
Currently, a women's prayer group meets on Mondays 8:15-9:30pm for prayer and faith-sharing. No need to register; all are welcome to attend.
Fall Family Festival:
An annual event held each fall to build community and to celebrate our faith. It includes carnival games, silent auction, raffle drawing, food, music, and so much more! All proceeds benefit the St. Charles Borromeo Building Fund.
Lenten Fish Fry:
Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, a fish fry is held each Friday of Lent, offering ample opportunities for service and fellowship. Proceeds benefit the Knights of Columbus and the many charities they support.
